About this place
At Yukidaruma in Nakano, the gyoza are a natural first order: each one is filled and wrapped in its skin after you place your order, then grilled until fragrant. Sip bottled beer or a highball while you wait, and enjoy them piping hot. It is an unpretentious pleasure that suits this counter-only spot.
Ramen is the mainstay of the noodle menu, pairing thin noodles with a mild, well-balanced broth. The classic miso ramen has a gentle finish and makes a satisfying late-night bowl without feeling too heavy after drinks. Other options include chashu ramen topped with tender braised pork, flavourful garlic-chive ramen and mapo noodles.
Rice dishes offer plenty of choice for a more substantial meal, from classic fried rice and Chinese-style rice bowls to simple omurice and natto fried rice. The small restaurant has counter seating only and opens from 17:30 until 2:00, making it an easy stop for a drink after work or a late meal.
